Offered by Galerie Gilles Linossier
A Louis XVI period marquetry secre?taire with ruins and landscapes probably influenced by the painter Hubert Robert. White marble top and gilt bronzes. Stamped “J. P. Letellier JME” by Jacques-Pierre Letellier, rec?u mai?tre in 1767, France. It is very likely that Letellier worked with Andre Louis Gilbert, famous cabinet maker (rec?u mai?tre in 1785) specialized in that type of marquetry. An almost identical model stamped by Gilbert is published in “Le mobilier Francais du XVIIIe Siecle” by Pierre Kjellberg, p. 404, ed. l’Amateur, 2008.
