Decorative art from 18th to 20th century
Manufacture of Minton, England, enamelled ceramic snake vase, circa 1852.
Influenced by the return of the styles of the past, the Minton manufacture began to create designs inspired by the Renaissance. The works of Della Robia and Bernard Pallisy were a huge source of inspiration that is perceptible in the choice of the colored glaze and animal decorations. But the pieces from the Minton manufacture are exceptionnal for their decorative qualities and the simplicity of their designs which were appreciated not only in England but by a lot of european connoisseurs.
