Series of seven (only four are shown here) Louis XIV period cast iron Medici vases with handles featuring stylised dolphins. The vases bear coats of arms on their bodies which, although hammered, can be reconstructed: the heraldic mantle, reserved for the dukes and peers of France, and the ‘ecu des dames’ appear, where the coat of arms of the dauphins, for example that of the ‘Petit dauphin’ Louis of France, shows, in abyss, fleurs-de-lys and dolphins encartelés.
