This 16th century alabaster represents a mythological scene illustrating Hercules helmeted by the head of the Nemean lion, equipped with his club and drawing by the hair a naked woman.
The scene evokes the ninth of the twelve works ordered by Eurysthée: "Hercules flying the belt of Hippolyte".
