Christ's entry into Jerusalem, which is celebrated on Palm Sunday, is the sixth and thus the last Sunday of Lent and thus the beginning of Holy Week.
In the center of the icon, Jesus is shown sitting on the donkey, people below him spread their clothes in front of him. His disciples follow him to the left of Christ, and the greeting people of Jerusalem are shown on the right.
In the upper part of the picture on the left is a rocky outcrop with the last miracle of Christ "The Raising of Lazarus", on the right is the cityscape of Jerusalem.
A commissioned work by the Palech painting school for a private person in excellent magnifying glass painting.
