Painter of portraits, landscapes, still lifes, flowers, pastellist.
A student at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Lyon in 1866, he also attended Jean Seignemartin's classes. 1872, he made his debut at the Salon in his hometown. Member of the Salon des Artistes Français in Paris, he took part until 1929, obtaining a third medal at the Universal Expositions of 1889 and 1900.
Her canvases are composed according to a juxtaposition of colour spots that highlight her backlighting with refined greys and violets. Among his latest works, painted to painted at over eighty years of age, are: La gaité des prairies in Montmoyen (Côte d'Or) and Entrée du parc in Oullins (Rhône) .
