Hans Tichy (1861 Brno - 1925 Vienna) studied at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna with A. Eisenmenger, C. L. Müller & C. Griepenkerl, 1914-1925 professor at the same and 1921 - 1925 director, member of the Künslterhaus, founding member of the Vienna Secession, member of “Die Scholle” (German Moravian artists), exhibitions in Vienna, Munich, Brno / works can be found in the Belvedere Museum in the Belvedere Museum in Vienna and in the Moravská Gallery in Brno.
The Austrian painter Hans Tichy was among the city's leading painters of the Vienna Secession around 1900. In the period from the founding of the Vienna Secession until his appointment as a professor at the Academy, he almost exclusively exhibited at the Vienna Secession. Stylistically, this work is similar to the painting “Vorfrühling”, which Tichy showed at the VII Secession exhibition. Paintings by Tichy can also be found in the subsequent shows. Some titles such as “Forest Interior”, “Autumn Morning”, “Swamp Meadow” or “Landscape” match the work shown here. We can therefore assume that our work was also shown at the Vienna Secession.
