A Louis XVI turquoise circa 1780. Very rare sofa "turquoise" Louis XVI period, beech wood carved, molded and lacquered. Turquoise or also called sultana with two symmetrical bedside upholstered of equal height, with very pronounced windings; resting on a base with eight tapered fluted feet rudentées united in depth by flat crosspieces. The seat and armrests are padded with cushions. This living room reminiscent of exoticism was very popular in salons since the mid-eighteenth century; his ladies used it to receive the guests while lying down. It should be noted that this turquoise from the castle of Thomassin the hunting house of ??Count Albert Joseph Augustin Olivier de Pezet is totally in its original state with its original lacquer without any restorations. The upholstery is in good condition and only the roof can be repaired. Our upholsterer can if necessary take care of its repair; the choice of a new fabric will be studied with the future buyer.
