The Manufacture of Pont aux Choux was created by Edmé Serrurier in 1742 rue de Charenton and transferred in 1749 on the counterscarp opposite the street of Pont aux Choux.
In 1743 Claude Humbert Gerin and the brothers Gilles and Robert Dubois de Vincennes join him as well as Adrien Pierre Mignon, wood merchant.
They get a privilege of 10 years to make fine earthenware under the name of manufacture of Pont aux Choux.
