18th Furniture, country french furniture
Rare Pedestal desk in solid mahogany. French Work of Saint-Malo of the mid 18th century.
This large Louis XIV style Bureau plat opens with two doors topped with drawers in two boxes separated by a central niche.
It opens in front not two smooth leaves to the assembly similar to that of the tray, each surmounted by a drawer, the left arranged compartments.
The amounts are of square section and end with straight feet.
Note that the tray is not pegged but mounted hooks, as for the commode from Saint-Malo.
The furniture is illuminated by beautiful cast brass mounts typical of the country of Saint Malo, the drawers close with two iron locks while the doors have kept their original iron locks.
Furniture of very good quality, all in sobriety, with timeless lines. Very nice original condition and beautiful patina.
