A carved and gilded six-light chandelier, the central standard fluted and beaded, with an ovolo border and acanthus leaves. The branches with fretwork, rosettes and acanthus leaves.
It is rather unusual to find a wooden chandelier in the last quarter of the 18th century. From ca 1750 wooden chandeliers had gone out of fashion.
Most chandeliers from the second half of the 18th century would have been made of cut glass or gilt bronze with crystal or cut glass beads.
