Oval coffee table attributed to the cabinetmaker Jean-Pierre Dusautoy, veneered with rosewood, boxwood fillets, white marble top, bronze ornamentation (gilded), late Louis XV period.
The coffee table has a white Carrara marble top surrounded by an openwork gallery of gilt bronze. It opens with three drawers hidden in the drum of the case offering an oval of a perfect geometry. This case rests on four elongated console feet, of a relative rigidity showing the Transition taste, a fashion that gradually gives way to the straight line.
Between the legs is a veneered shelf.
The legs are finished with gilded bronze sabots.
The model of this table is known by several specimens bearing the stamp of the cabinetmaker Jean-Pierre Dusautoy, who made a number of salon tables in the Transitional style during the late reign of Louis XV.
Size (H x W x D): 77,5 x 47 x 33,5 cm.
