Violet wood and rosewood veneered desk table.
Early Louis XV Parisian work.
The front opens to reveal two drawers without a central crosspiece. The two woods are frizzled and framed by a fillet, creating a very attractive diamond pattern of chevrons. The curved top is encircled on three sides by a violet rush and features leather surrounded by a violet frieze with a rosewood fillet. It stands on four cambered, facetted legs adorned with a foliate fall and a gilt and chased bronze fillet, foliate hooves and castors.
Original ormolu lock escutcheons.
Very good condition.
