Leather panel with putti decoration, late 16th century

This embossed leather panel was made at the end of the XVIth century.

It features a refined decoration typical of the Renaissance. It features putti, small childlike figures symbolizing innocence.

The panel is also adorned with scrolls, stylized foliage and a laurel wreath, symbolizing victory.

Dolphin heads complete the composition, a motif often used to evoke the sea and protection.
