The pair of refined night stands was made in neoclassical era, towards the end of the 18th century, in northern Italy.
The night stends tables are made of walnut and cherry wood. They have a top inlaid with geometric patterns. Inside a frame decorated with fan motifs at the four interior corners, there is a second square frame, rotated by 45 degrees, with a diamond-shaped decoration in the centre that creates a star with multiple points. On the front there is a drawer, decorated with geometric inlays and frames, with socket in chiseled bronze with masculine profile of classic taste. Below, a compartment is closed by a roller sliding door. The sides are also slotted and have, inside a frame, a herringbone pattern that uses the wood veins to create the design and chromatic contrast. The four legs are a trunk of inverted pyramid with fine geometric inlay on the corners.
The night stends, which can also be used as small cabinets in many environments, are very elegant and decorative. They can be inserted in modern furniture contexts where they will bring the warmth and charm of the old.
