Nevers, plate with masonic decoration of a lodge picture 18th century

Nevers earthenware contoured rim plate with polychrome Masonic decoration of a lodge picture composed of the columns “Jakin” surmounted by a moon and “boaz” surmounted by a sun framing the steps and entrance door of the temple; at the ends the letters OR for Orient, M for Midi, OC for Occident and S for Septentrion and scattered with Masonic symbols: square, compass, level, trowel, mallet and pickaxe. Diameter: 23 cm. One chip restored. *The Jakin and Boaz columns, according to the Hebrew Bible, are the names of the two bronze columns (copper alloy) made by Hiram and placed by King Solomon at the entrance to the Temple in Jerusalem.
