This impressive bronze mortar from Le Puy-en-Velay features six vertical ribs, each adorned with three knobs. The upper rim is decorated with 27 small Fleur-de-Lis ornaments, symbolizing French royalty. Between the ribs, there are two medallions:

• St. George slaying the dragon, a motif of valor and protection.
The mortar boasts sharp details and a beautiful patina, making it a standout piece of 16th-century French artistry.
