Farmyard, Hens And Roosters By Henri Schouten (1857-1927)

Henry SCHOUTEN (1857-1927) Is a Belgian animal and landscape painter.

He began his training at the Academy of Brussels in 1876 with the painter Alfred Verwée.

The latter, a precursor of the Belgian naturalist movement and open-air painter, specialized in animal painting. Henry Schouten was very influenced by him.

Above all a smooth and realistic animal painter, the artist exhibited in his hometown from 1882 with the Union des Arts. Our pair of paintings presents beautiful majestic roosters.

The colors are bright. The artist focuses primarily on the details of the animals which are staged in a blended vegetation. Observe the realism and grandeur of these.
