A cylindrical shape and four-lobed wax case. The polished rose gold case is decorated with a frieze of stylized roses in rose and white gold, on an amati gold background. The case has an elegant chiselled rectangular panel and a cleverly designed play of light. Work of the middle of the 18th century. Louis XV period.
Charge mark: crowned A and two palms.
Discharge mark: dog's head.
Farmer's name: Jean-Jacques Prevost (1762-1768).
Recontrôle hallmark: eagle head.
Master goldsmith's hallmark: ND crowned fleur-de-lys, crowned heart by Nicolas Durier, received master goldsmith in Paris on 13 September 1758, died on 8 July 1788.
