Very rare Judaic Hanukkah lamp in earthenware with eight oil receptacles decorated in polychrome with garlands of flowers and the initials of the patron (M L).

Most early Hanukkah lamps were made of bronze, silver or pewter; earthenware models are very rare, as they are more fragile. A number of them were destroyed during the Second World War.
