Maurice Félix Charpentier is a French sculptor (1858-1924)
Félix Charpentier was admitted to the studios of Jules Cavelier and Amédée Doublemard at the Paris School of Fine Arts in 1877. From 1879 he presented his works at the Salon des artistes français. He received a silver medal at the 1889 World's Fair and his fame continued to grow. In 1890 he received the medal of the first class and the Salon prize for the marble La Chanson, and then, in 1893, the medal of honor for the marble of his wrestlers. This work was acquired by the State and has adorned the square of Bollène's town hall since 1905.
He was made a knight of the Legion of Honor, was promoted to officer of the Legion of Honor on February 9, 1901.
In 1899, Austria awarded Félix Charpentier the grand gold medal at the Vienna International Triennial Exhibition for the Sleeping Globe. In 1900 he was elected mayor of Chassant (Eure-et-Loir), where he settled.
