Okimono study of a pheasant (Kiji – ?), national bird of Japan, in bronze with brown patina and gold details. The feathers are carefully sculpted, showing a texture that looks almost real.
The gold details, present in the eyes, beak and legs of the pheasant, introduce a brilliant contrast compared to the burnished body.
Period: Meiji end of 19th century.
Dimensions: 37 x 18 x 10 cm.
Conservation status: Excellent condition. There is slight wear on the patina consistent with age.
