Central section of a solid oak spiral staircase. Probably French. One side bears the marks of the treads and is decorated with a floral motif, while the other side is a spiral running upwards. Stairway to heaven! This elegant piece of architecture, which is around 300 years old, can just as easily be interpreted as an abstract art sculpture. Creating movement in inert matter.
