This excellent chair carpenter, who lived on rue de Cléry, is best known as an attaché to the Crown's furniture storage service, for whom he worked from 1777 onwards. In other words, his work is essentially in the Louis XVI style. This was the period when, under the high guidance of the sculptor Hauré, who directed all the garde-meuble's programs, royal commissions occupied a large part of his time.
