Finding a wedding gift was probably easier in the USA of the 1880s than it is today, for the so-called Bride's Basket was an indispensable luxury gift on the wedding landscape. They were a guarantee for expressing beauty, generosity and love. Previously, such baskets were used in simpler materials for the flower girls and adorned the bride and groom's table - only later did the Bride's Basket also establish itself as a luxury gift in sterling silver. It was not until around 1905 that these baskets went out of fashion again and are awaiting their renaissance.
