18th Walnut And Marble Console Table

Beautiful breccia marble for this 18th century console, probably once intended for the hall of a large residence. The frame is in walnut composed of sheathed legs carved with grooves and topped with a thimble with foliage mascaron, the belt presents a series of wide grooves marking the Louis XVI style of this pretty piece of furniture. The marble is vintage, as can be seen in the photo showing the rear edge, and has undergone an old restoration from below, almost invisible on top. Characterful furniture with sober and architectural lines which will complement a beautiful contemporary interior as well as a more classic atmosphere.
