Extraordinary Louis XVI mantel clock "The Chariot of Ceres", in gilded and patinated bronze, very refined. Ceres, goddess of agriculture, driving a chariot and showing a plow pulled by a pair of weathered oxen, France, late 18th century. dimensions: Height. Length 42 cm. 44.5 and 14 cm. The timepiece is signed by Caillouet in Paris (1733-1810). Mentioned in “Encyclopedia of the French Clock, Pierre Kjellberg. dad. 419.”
