Offered by Anne Besnard
This beautiful pair of vases is in opaline. Amphora-shaped, these vases stand on a pedestal and feature a narrowing under the neck. They are delicately painted in white enamel on the body, with a very fine and elegant neo-Louis XVI decoration, featuring a winged angel amid scrolls, arabesques and garlands of leaves and flowers. They are enhanced at the base, shoulder and top of the neck with gilded fillets and friezes of small round lozenges.
One of the two is in perfect condition, with a few traces of wear to the gilding on the base and shoulder, and a tiny, almost invisible chip on the inside of the neck. One is slightly lighter.
