Pair of carved walnut armchairs covered in “petit point” embroidery
Turin, 1750 circa
They measure 33.8 in (86 cm) in height; 17.32 in (44 cm) to the seat; 25.98 in (66 cm) wide; 23.6 in (60 cm) deep each.
State of conservation: very good. The wooden part, original "in patina", has some signs of use; the original embroidered covers show some slight old restoration.
Pair of small twin armchairs in carved and engraved walnut, resting on arched legs; the curved armrests, the shaped and enveloping backrest and the seat are padded and embellished with the original cover. The cover is embroidered with “petit point” polychrome decorations of flowers and large soft sinuous leaves.
They are the work of a Turin cabinetmaker from around the middle of the 18th century.
