Montbazon1826-Paris1897 French painter of landscapes, member of the Barbizon School. he is the author of admirable views of Fontainebleau, Auvers-sur-Oise, Pontoise, Crécy-en-Brie, Asnières and Argenteuil. A student of Paul Delaroche, belonging to the group of followers of Daubigny, he exhibited at the Salon from 1848. Public collections: Dole, Musée des Beaux-Arts Bequest Chalon, 1911 (a set of six works) Nantes Musée des Beaux-Arts
