Pair of convertible armchairs attributed to Georges Jacob

Pair of convertible armchairs with curved backs in carved and gilded wood. The backrest is framed with tori of molded ribbon and highlighted with pearls which join the armrests with scrolls and trimmed cuffs.

The armrests are supported by fluted balusters whose base is decorated with palmettes.

The slightly protruding belt is highlighted by a frieze of pearls which connects flowery connecting dice supporting the tapered legs with roughened grooves.

Beautiful original gilding.

Work from the Louis XVI period which is similar to that of Georges Jacob, a carpenter who became a master in 1765.

Dimensions: H 90 cm x W 60 cm x P 55 cm
