European Works of Art from the Middle Ages to the XVIIIth century
A very handsome little head in white marble sculpted in the round, from the Renaissance period, depicting a child looking straight on, with a slightly smiling, half-open mouth. The hair, worked in small circular curls, is parted in the middle, giving it a classical, balanced look. The face, with its rounded cheeks, has delicate features, particularly in the mouth, with slightly full lips and eyes whose lids are carefully sculpted and pupils simply recessed. All this contributes to the softness of expression and a harmonious, seductive figure.
