*Jacques MARTIN FERRIERES (1893 - 1972) The fourth son of painter Henri Martin, Jacques Martin-Ferrières was taught well by his father from an early age. After studying chemistry, he devoted himself definitively to his passion for painting, learning about the requirements of pigments and preparing his own colors. A pupil of Cormon and his father Henri Martin, he exhibited his landscapes of the Midi and Venice at the Salon. He was awarded the Prix National in 1925, the Gold Medal in 1928 and the Prix Legay-Lebrun (Prix de l'Institut).
He is exhibited at the Musée d'Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris and also decorated the Saint-Christophe de Javel church in Paris.
An exhibition of his work entitled "Intimité et horizons" was held in Marseille and Paris in 2020.
