Large and large rectangular shaped gold case. The case is decorated with a fine decor of case is embellished with intricate geometric patterns of parallel stripes alternating with bands of polished gold. The hinged lid is decorated with a rosette set with small brilliants. It is framed by a stylized laurel frieze. This same decoration is found on the periphery of the case. A compartment on one side of the case opens on a scraper. This compartment contained the matches.
Gold hallmark: Greek doctor's head, from 1838.
Weight: 187 gr.
Hallmark of the master goldsmith: Edouard HUSSON active between 1905 and 1925 worked for several famous Houses at the beginning of the 20th century (Boucheron, Sandoz, Tiffany and Vever...). He was renowned for his work as an engraver, chiseller and enameller. His work was favoured by Tiffany & Co. as well as Boucheron.
