Offered by Antiquités Garnier
This pair of large sconces is made up of bronze hangers adorned with half crowns of mirzas, one under the sconce and one as a diadem at the top.
The 3 arms of light are in the neck and head of a swan supporting the binets in the shape of Medici.
The tight "S" of the sconces is a mark of the Empire period, even the beautifully crafted 19th century style wall lights or chandeliers have gooseneck arms but more elongated..
The model is very elegant and sober but the particularity of these lights is that they are lined with a mirror cut to the silhouette of the wall lamp itself.
The rendering is remarkable presence.
The very simple mountain of the frame indicates an installation in a boiserie.
But use on a single wall will not pose any technical or aesthetic problems.
