Henry de WAROQUIER (1881-1970) - Still Life With Peaches

Oil on wooden panel depainting a still-life with peachs. The artist proposes a realistic vision of the elements which take part of the painting, with a classical treatment of this traditional theme. A light halo comes from the right side of the canvas and creates a break between the dark palette used for the background, and the bright colours for the elements of the composition. The pictorial material shows an horizontal construction with many views, obtained by a prismatic decomposition of the light.
Signed « H. de Waroquier » and referenced « n° M307 » in the lower left, countersigned by the same reference on the back side.
