Offered by Antiquités Garnier
This pair of very high quality wall lights is identical to an apocryphal model made around 1770, and is similar to a Pitoin model made for the Martyr Queen.
A wide ribbon tied to a nail bears vines in the lower part and lily buttons (?) under the rosette. The two fluted arms are seized by a knot; they are dressed in foliage and carry a vase vase and a large counter cup, all fluted and surrounded by pearls.
These sconces bear the hallmark of the Colin house, which was a great bronzier of the second half of the 19th century. Their narrowness without these lights being small also makes it possible to use them on either side of a mirror, in fact, they are in the model of wall sconces.
We are very close to the work of the 18th century.
