Very Important « Surtout » Ealry 19th century

This exceptional above all is inspired by what was done during the Renaissance, table fountain, automaton. Its architecture is that of an aedicule (or a fountain) of an Italian town square.
The circular base is supported by four turtles. In an arch between the steps are four grotesques, one will think of the Boboli Park, four groups of fruit are placed on a background with foliage.
A building with four niches whose head is radiating flutes shelter four statues of women in the antique style. The roof of this building is made up of broken pediments supporting four languid putti. A large crystal basin surmounts and completes this beautiful and rare above all. The elaborate carving work is typical of the restoration period.
The basin is entirely cut in melon sides with an edge cut into brackets, it is a work of Creusot or Baccarat. The carving of the bronze is particularly elegant, note the details of the hairstyles of the four women for example. Numerous architectural elements give this above all the appearance of a monument in miniature.
It is a work from the beginning of the 19th century, probably made around 1820. The very detailed design, still classic, and a technique of fitting pieces made or prepared at the workbench one after the other.
