17th & 18th centuries Furniture and Statuary
Important coat of arms carved in high relief, whose shield is said to be ''quartered in a cross'', that is to say divided into four equal parts by a vertical line and a horizontal line.
Each part or district illustrates alternately a boar under a tree (arms of the city of Sedan in the Ardennes?) and a facade of a fortified castle with a crenellated parapet (coat of arms of a noble family? According to our sources, perhaps Guillaume de Launax in the Ardennes)
The shield is staged in a frame reproducing the appearance of rolled leather against a background of foliage.
The whole of this coat of arms is topped with a medieval cavalry helm or helmet and emblem of chivalry.

Some gaps and old xylophagous attacks.
At the end of the 16th century, around 1570, the City of Sedan adopted a municipal coat of arms embellished with a wild boar, a Celtic and Ardennes image, a symbol of strength and warrior intelligence. Dozens of noble families and communes have chosen a head, a boar's head to adorn their coat of arms; but rare are those who, like Sedan, have opted for a Boar posted in the shade of a tree.
