A beautiful large Empire clock, so-called: "Aux Marechaux", early 19th century. Fire-gilt, patinated bronze and red marble base, decorated with an eagle - an imperial symbol - and a reading man and a woman on either side. This pattern was a Louis XVI model made in the 18th century circa 1785; it is called aux marechaux model in French because Emperor Napoleon gave one to each of the marshals. Excellent condition.
