17th & 18th centuries Furniture and Statuary
This lovely Regency period Mazarine chest of drawers opens with three drawers with inlaid geometric decorations in elm burr reserves, burr burr and walnut veneer in plum and boxwood fillets.
The decoration of the top is inlaid with the same indigenous woods in a game of reserves with geometric shapes including trefoil spandrels in the corners.
The uprights in inverted consoles are extended by straight legs adorned with falls in gilded bronze.
The sides are illustrated with a double diamond separated by nets, all surmounted by the traditional small rectangle surrounded by a net on only three sides.
This elegant chest of drawers is adorned with chiseled and gilded bronze ornamentation with lion head motifs for the keyholes and masks on the uprights and the central apron.
This piece of furniture is to be compared to the production of Thomas Hache in Grenoble.
