French Furniture and Art Pieces of the 18th century and Empire period
Pair of satinwood and amaranth corner pieces, topped with a Ste Anne marble, stamped CC Saunier and JME from the Louis XVI period.
With these corner pieces, Claude Charles Saunier demonstrates once again his perfect mastery of the "straight" line. The proportion, the care given to the interior finishing (veneer inside) the quality of the wood and the assembly of the frame confirm Claude Charles Saunier as one of the best cabinetmaker of his time.
Claude-Charles Saunier (1735-1807), received master on July 31, 1752. We find furniture bearing his stamp in the greatest museums -Louvre, Carnavalet, Arts décoratifs de Paris, Nissim de Camando, Metropolitan, Victoria and Albert, Rijkmuseum, etc-.
Condition report: restored in our workshop in September 2022. Original locks, old bronzes but brought back
