Japanese Meiji period Sendai, zelkova (keyaki) wood single-section tansu with characteristic rectangular carved lockplate on the upper drawer, Mokko-style (melon) drawer handles, and hinged door on the right side opening to two drawers. Two side carrying handles. Hinoki wood for the inside of the drawers. All fittings are original.
