18th Century, Italian Louis XIV Lacquered and Giltwood Console
Measurements: cm W max 107 (W front 100) x D 56 x H 73
This elegant baroque console was made in the early 18th century, in the Louis XIV era. Said "a ¾" has particular dimensions, as it is slightly lower than traditional consoles, favouring its placement. Its wooden structure is entirely lacquered and gilded. The top, wider on the back and with a slightly wavy and golden profile, is lacquered with faux marble and ochre reserve. The under-top band, accompanied by a drawer, ends with a carved profile mixed with gold border very decorative and characteristic of the Louis XIV era. The legs are curved and moved, carved with golden phytomorphic motifs. The particular feet are decorated with volutes and acanthus leaves carved and gilded.
The small size and the delicate wavy line of its profile make this console very decorative and easy to insert in any furnishing context. Very beautiful presented in the living room or in an entrance hall, it can be supported by an ancient mirror or a painting, ancient or modern. It can also be used to display vases, clocks or candlesticks. The gold and the light color make it suitable for both antique and modern furniture.
