Extremely rare pair of sconces with quinquet in red and gold varnished sheet metal of the Consulate period, Paris around 1795-1805, attributed to the Deharme factory.
They are adorned with a painted decoration representing a quiver and its arrows as well as flowers on the base of the quinquet.
The oil tanks are surmounted by a head of Diana the Huntress and large palmettes.

The Deharme factory was the most important factory of varnished sheet metal in Paris in the last years of the 18th century and the very beginning of the 19th century, as much by its activity as by the quality and the smoothness of its production.
Napoleon was among others a fervent admirer and patron of this factory.
