18th C Spanish School. St John the Baptist. Sculpture in walnut wood with traces of polychromy. Standing on a rock, he carries a lamb on his left arm, the rigth one raised was probably holding a cross. He is dressed in a short tunic and a long cape worn across the body. His feet are bare and his face emaciated, symbolizing his life as a hermit. A St James shell hanging at the crossing of the folds refers to the famous pilgrimage.
