The scene represents the adoration of the shepherds. Following the birth of Christ represented in swaddling clothes, under the attentive gaze of the Virgin, Saint Joseph and three shepherds in the foreground.
One of them, with his back to us, of whom we can only see his hat and his hand indicating the good news to another shepherd close to him. A child, with his hands clasped, prays to the Child Jesus right before his eyes, leaning on straw and ears of wheat, symbolizing the richness of the contents he holds.
Two other figures in the background are talking to each other under a window from which the moon is visible in the upper right corner.
One can feel the influence of Utrecht through the light darkness and the composition.
Beautiful bright colors and excellent condition of the support.
