A Louis XVI small working table by Nicolas Petit

Charming little dressing table (or working table) in rosewood, amaranth and tinted sycamore, stamped N. Petit, Louis XVI period.
Tackled on all sides.
The facade opens with two leaves revealing two small drawers, the top rises, revealing a mirror and a cavity covered by two shutters.
Stamped N. Petit and marked with the JME stamp.
Nicolas Petit, got his master in 1761.

Condition report: Restored in summer 2021, traces of old restorations.

Nicolas Petit (1732-1791) is one of the major cabinet makers of the second half of the 18th century. We find his works in the main museums in Europe such as the Museum of Decorative Arts in Paris, the Carnavalet Museum, the Wallace Collection in London, etc.
