A Louis XVI neoclassical writing table with a geometric marquetry top on all sides in rosewood, rosewood and sycamore treated naturally or stained. The decoration is composed of quadrilateral geometric cartouches with Greek-style recesses embellished with natural boxwood fillets and alternating fillets forming cartouches, some of which are spandrelled with threaded cubes.
This small rectangular table opens on the front with three drawers one above the other; the top drawer has a hinged writing tablet, covered in gilded cognac morocco. Each drawer is fitted with drop-hand drawer handles adorned with laurel wreaths tied with ribbons on fixed rosette backgrounds and key escutcheons with pearled medallions, wrapped in large chased bronze bows.
The ensemble rests on a four-legged sheath base with square sections, joined by a shelf between the legs. Each of the four legs is inlaid with tapering false fluting in natural and tinted fillets.
Restoration and maintenance work such as fixing the tiled veneers and varnishing with a buffer.
