Feldhütter Ferdinand (1842-1898)
Ferdinand Feldhütter was a German landscape painter.
Initially working as a folk singer, Feldhütter trained as a decorator and house painter. He often visited museums in Munich and began to paint mountain landscapes as a self-taught artist. He then became a private pupil of landscape painter Julius Lange. Likewise, he had no academic training. Furthermore, he mainly painted the mountain world of Bavaria, Switzerland and northern Italy.
In his works, the influence of Carl Spitzweg's landscape painting can be recognized. His entry "Partie von Sachran bei Kufstein" was awarded a gold medal at the international exhibition in Barcelona in 1898.
He was a member of the Kunstverein Munich and participated in its exhibitions.
